PEUGEOT e 208 has just released their new all-electric car, the PEUGEOT E-208. It’s the world’s first production all-electric car with an all-electric range of more than 186 miles (300km) – twice that of any other electric car on the market today! The PEUGEOT E-208 promises to be a huge hit with urban drivers and has already had a lot of success with its predecessor, the PEUGEOT iOn (sold in North America as the PEUGEOT iOn3).
The design Of PEUGEOT e 208:
The electric model is available with a choice of six ‘out of office’ colors including Electric Blue (metallic), Grey Carat, Metal Gray and Rally Yellow (metallic) as well as two three-tone combinations; Deep Violet/Metal Gray and Bottle Green/Rally Yellow. Inside, PEUGEOT i-Cockpit 3D with a driving position that puts you at ease – your hands naturally fall on to either side of steering wheel thanks to its floating style. Soft materials provide an extremely welcoming environment for all occupants, while displays are clear and legible even in bright sunlight. Climate control in driver’s cab adjusts air temperature in real time according to body temperature.
Interior features
An electric car has much fewer mechanical parts than a conventional car. As such, there is no need for complex interior equipment to control and maintain a full suite of mechanical functions (such as starting, accelerating and braking). The electric drivetrain’s design leaves ample room for more passenger and cargo space. Inside, the PEUGEOT e-208’s cabin emphasizes visibility and ergonomics with simple styling yet classic lines that evoke both sophistication and simplicity. An extremely spacious footwell gives passengers plenty of legroom while LED lighting illuminates all four doors. For optimal visibility, PEUGEOT e-208 features a unique rear window that helps eliminate blind spots when reversing into tight parking spaces or backing out of garages or driveway gates.
PEUGEOT e 208 Exterior features
The bold and sporty design comes in three trim levels: Access, Active and Allure. The electric version of PEUGEOT 208 is powered by a 39 kWh lithium battery offering a range between 100 km and 225 km*. Depending on your driving style, charging times may vary. For example, if you drive normally at 50 km/h (31 mph), your PEUGEOT e-208 will be fully charged in 6 to 8 hours. This makes it possible to manage longer journeys without having to stop for charge as often – for example on motorways or express roads**. And thanks to its lightweight construction, charging does not affect performance because there are no batteries inside its boot.
Under the hood
The Peugeot e-208 is powered by a 33kW/60bhp electric motor, which can produce 122Nm of torque. It’s charged using an 11kW onboard charger and will take 7 hours to charge from empty to full using a standard wall box. The e-208 has an 80 liter boot, although you can fit more in if you remove both rear seats. This isn’t going to be suitable for everyone, but it is cheaper than most rivals, starting at £28,260 after UK government grants.
