Porsche Sporty 911 Hybrid Will Not Be a Plug-In, In a roundtable discussion, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume talked about the hybrid 911 and the company’s new electric 718 cars. Oliver Blume, the CEO of Porsche, told a group of people on Thursday that the car won’t be a plug-in hybrid.
Blume said it was a “sporty hybrid” based on the Porsche 919 Hybrid that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is based on that car. Blume said that electric cars would be used to keep the 718’s mid-engine shape.
In the past, Porsche has thought about making the 911 hybrid. At the time, the current 992 model was still being worked on, and Porsche talked about whether or not to make a hybrid 911 in 2017.
It hasn’t come out yet three years into production, but Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said that the 992 hybrid is real. A hybrid version of the Porsche 911 could be coming soon, as well, and he told us what to expect.
