The Mercedes-Benz EQS Electric comes in slightly longer than a Mercedes C-Class, but it’s still smaller than an S Class. Despite its size, it can seat five adults comfortably. The driving range is 250 miles on a single charge, making it perfect for commuting around town and also taking road trips. Charging takes just two hours when you use one of the 10kW fast chargers. It takes five hours if you have a traditional household outlet and use an 8kW charger adapter. The charging adapters are provided by Mercedes for free for those who purchase or lease the car. You’ll be able to travel between DC fast chargers without using any gas at all – something electric vehicle (EV) owners dream about!

Driving experience

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is an electric car. So, naturally, driving it feels different from a combustion vehicle. Driving an electric car is more like piloting a spaceship or roller coaster than traditional vehicles. You feel every bump and vibration through your seat, which definitely takes some getting used to. The car also only has 200 horsepower compared to typical gasoline cars that have upwards of 400 horsepower — you’re going to feel it when you put your foot down on the gas pedal! But I also found an acceleration in urban areas with stoplights comparable to what I would get in my regular car. This will take some getting used to but if efficiency is your main concern, it’ll be fine once you adjust to driving an electric vehicle.

Pricing for the 2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC is expected to fall between $65,000 and $75,000. While that’s about $20,000 more than an entry-level Tesla Model X 75D (which starts at $72,500), consumers might be willing to pay a premium for the luxury vehicles from a manufacturer with a long history of producing top-quality automobiles. Due to its high price tag, however, we expect most people will compare it to other luxury vehicles like BMW’s i3 and i8 models or Tesla’s Model S and X vehicles. These models are direct competitors and all have similar ranges – BMW advertises over 200 miles on a single charge while all three Mercedes are advertised at ~174 miles per charge.
