Tesla Model Y long: With the release of its long-range version, the Model Y joins Tesla’s stable alongside the wildly popular Model 3. Unbeknownst to many though, this compact EV was designed with a slew of new features that make it supremely user-friendly for both novice and veteran drivers alike. For starters, let’s take a look at its all-electric powertrain which has been painstakingly researched to boost efficiency while retaining high performance. From there we can move onto features such as unique features–like an automated front loading system for luggage–which were all designed specifically to address passenger concerns.

Tesla Model Y is available in two interior colors.
Passengers benefit from the expansive Glass Roof allows passengers to feel like they are not in the car at all, but rather in an outdoor environment. Moreover, infrared and ultraviolet light are efficiently blocked before entering the cabin and thus reduce cabin heat and glare. This helps make the interior comfortable for passengers. There are 15-inch touchscreens with navigation, movies, music, games, and much more. A 360-degree surround view is available, allowing you to see everything around you, including speed limit signs, upcoming traffic control signals. Dual USB charging ports let you charge two smartphones simultaneously, and the integrated center console provides ample storage space. This makes it easy to find your belongings, because everything has its place.
The seating material is significantly more durable and stain-resistant than leather, while maintaining our rigorous standards for durability and stain resistance. It’s also fully vegan, so it’s more sustainable than traditional seating materials. There are multiple ways to store items in the Model Y – it can hold 7 passengers and their luggage independently. A lift gate opens to a low floor that makes loading and unloading the vehicle easy.
With accurate airflow and temperature control, you can direct the heat and airflow of the cabin without ever touching a physical vent. The cabin is always kept cool through our Cabin Overheat Protection system, and our HEPA filtration system ensures the best cabin air quality. The pre-conditioning automatically warms the cabin and prepares the battery to maximize the car’s range and efficiency. The pre-conditioning also ensures that the engine starts smoothly, even if it has been off for several hours.
Tesla is best known for its fully autonomous Autopilot system, and the Model Y features it as standard. It also offers self-parking, summoning, and adaptive cruise control. These advanced features are optional, but this one is standard. For North American vehicles, Tesla is now offering Tesla Vision, a camera-based system (Omni Vision Technologies, Inc.) that does not use radar but instead relies on Tesla’s advanced suite. Autopilot is enabled by cameras and neural networks.
The front facing cameras are used to clear the outside cameras of rain droplets, while the cameras on the windshield aren’t used for Autopilot. If the windshield wipers are working or if rain is shed from the windshield at speed, the cameras in the outside cameras will work fine.
For Tesla’s Model S hatchbacks and Model X crossover utility vehicles, all-wheel-drive is standard. That makes it about the same percentage as AWD proponent Subaru. In its Model S sedans and Model X crossover utility vehicles, Tesla completely abandoned rear-wheel drive.
