New Tesla Roadster Specs Revealed

New Tesla Roadster, Tesla’s first car, went out of production in 2012 after two years on the market. This limited-edition sports car featured an all-electric powertrain and base price of $200,000 — making it one of the most expensive new cars ever made at the time, considering that most cars cost less than $20,000 (in today’s dollars). Now Roadster is back, and with even more impressive features! Here are some newly revealed specs of this all-electric supercar that debuts in 2022.

New Tesla Roadster:

Supercar, Powerhouse, and 0-60 in 1.9 Seconds! With 0 to 60 coming in at an impressive 1.9 seconds, it’s clear that Tesla has taken performance to a whole new level. And that’s not all—the new Tesla Roadster will be able to drive approximately 400 miles on a single charge–more than any other production electric vehicle on today’s market. This makes it much more efficient than gasoline vehicles as well: 1 gallon of gas equates to about 33 kWh or miles of driving in a Model S. So how do you go from 0-60 in under 2 seconds?

New Tesla Roadster Stats:

0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, 1⁄4 mile in 8.8 seconds and top speed of 250+ mph! What an awesome new supercar. The Tesla Roadster looks like a cross between a Lotus Elise and an Aston Martin Vantage. I love how they were able to build an electric car that has more power than most other cars on the road today. That’s pretty impressive considering it’s a zero emissions vehicle as well! Since it’s all electric you don’t have to worry about gas or oil changes, or any kind of engine work for that matter because there is no engine to worry about! If you have ever thought about driving a really cool sports car then this may be just what you are looking for.

0-60 in 1.9 Seconds:

Tesla unveiled its newest vehicle, an all-electric supercar that delivers record-setting performance and efficiency. The new Roadster will be available in 2022 with a $50,000 base reservation price tag. It’ll accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 1.9 seconds—and it has a 620-mile range. That’s double that of Tesla’s first all-electric vehicle, which launched 10 years ago at $109,000 (about £90,000). With top speed of over 250 miles per hour and 746 horsepower, Tesla said owners could reach maximum plaid by driving at full throttle on a straightaway.

New Tesla Roadster Top Speed 250+ MPH:

0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds: Supercar-best 613 horsepower: 1100 miles of range on a single charge (EPA estimated): Can drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco and back without recharging: Carbon fiber body with aluminum chassis: Stunning 0.24 drag coefficient, achieved through years of wind tunnel testing at SpaceX.

620 miles per charge-New Tesla Roadster:

In its lifetime, every Model S is charged more than a million times. The total amount of energy taken in by each car is enough to power three houses every day. Put another way, that’s enough energy to drive from New York City to Los Angeles—twice. And remember, that’s per car, not per driver. With our free Supercharger network growing dramatically—nearly doubling each year—Tesla drivers can take long road trips knowing they will always be able to top off their charge where there’s a plug. No other electric car offers that kind of freedom and peace of mind while driving. And with no emissions at the point of use, driving a Model S is also better for your health and for our shared environment.

0 to 100 mph in 4 seconds:

Tesla has confirmed that its new Roadster supercar will hit 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds and 100 mph in 4.2 seconds, making it an incredibly fast ride. The electric car company says that’s half a second faster than even their best sports cars, including its Model S P100D, which can achieve a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.5 seconds. It is also quicker than any other production car on sale today—which currently include Koenigsegg’s Agera RS and Bugatti’s Chiron (both achieving 0 to 60 mph times of 2.5 seconds). Even Tesla’s quickest electric vehicle is slower: Model S P100D takes 2.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph).

1/4 Mile 8.8 seconds:

The all-electric supercar accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds, reaching a maximum speed of over 250 mph. When Roadster’s top speed is combined with its pure electric powertrain, zero tailpipe emissions and unrivaled performance efficiency, it achieves a range on a single charge of over 620 miles. And with an estimated 120kWh battery pack—the largest ever for a production vehicle—Roadster delivers an unheard-of range for its class. That’s enough energy to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco and back without recharging.
